Denver City Council Give Initial OK to DIA’s Overhall

According to DBJ, a group of Denver City Council members have given their “initial OK” to Denver International Airport’s proposed $1.8 billion overall of the main terminal.

The plans call for moving security screening up a floor from the main terminal’s wide-open Great Hall to Level 6, near airline check-in stations. Under the plan, the airlines’ ticketing area will take up two-thirds of Level 6, with security screening on the remaining one-third of the space, but many of the airlines are worried these plans will fail by trying to squeeze the airport’s most vital functions — ticketing and security screening — into too small of a space.
