Visit Denver recently reported a monthly record collection of $9.8 million in June 2016 in hotel tax receipts, which surpasses the previous record of $8.3 million in July 2015. Visit Denver attributed a 4% increase in hotel rooms available and several large conventions held in Denver in June, despite the negative perception of the downtown 16th Street mall.
