DENVER — Elsy Studios, a Denver‐based full-service commercial interior design firm, recently completed the remodel of Anton Collins Mitchell LLP’s (ACM) 26,479-square-foot office space located at 303 E 17th Ave. in Denver. Elsy’s design aims to reflect the dynamic personality of the company in an open-concept layout not typically found in accounting firms.
“ACM wanted to recognize the hard work and dedication of their employees by creating a fun, vibrant space everyone could enjoy,” said Cathy Loftus, principal at Elsy. “By working to understand what makes the company unique, we created a design that meets the needs of a multigenerational workforce and focuses on building connections.”
Elsy’s design incorporates a strategic mix of interior offices and workstations with access to ample natural light. Each workstation includes a whiteboard, monitor arm, wall with organizational tools, and sit-to-stand work surfaces. A large multifunctional breakroom accommodates a variety of seating as well as plenty of space for the firm’s frequently catered meals.
Throughout the project, Elsy maximized space by merging decorative and functional elements in creative ways. For example, an abacus serves as the focal point for the reception area to capture the imagination of employees and visitors alike, while seamlessly blending into the overall design for the space. Cleverly crafted to hide the catering bar located directly behind it, frosted glass serves as the backdrop to the abacus, allowing sunlight to filter through into the reception area. Elsy carefully collaborated with i2 Construction, Performance Woodworking and 3D Identity to achieve the custom piece.
“Working with Elsy Studios brought to life the vision of what we believed could happen in the space ACM had occupied for 20 years,” said Kristin Holthus, director of finance and operations at ACM. “It can be a daunting task to help all team members imagine the end result, but our team at Elsy Studios created an amazing, collaborative design process that allowed everyone to visualize how the space would look and function. The entire team at ACM has settled in and fully utilizes the new space. We are so proud to share our space and resources with our clients and the community.”
