Local Construction Group Honored with Town of Castle Rock 2016 Design Award

Castle Rock, CO White Construction Group recently received the Town of Castle Rock 2016 Design Award for The Move office building under the “Environmental” category. The Town of Castle Rock created this program in 2009 and nominations are submitted to town staff by a nomination team comprised of board and commission members as well as representatives of the building community.

The 71,146 GSF office building, which opened its doors in July 2016, is the first downtown commercial building in Castle Rock to feature 85 kW solar photovoltaic system, including 270 solar panels covering approximately 8,646 SF of roof area and offsetting about 20 percent of the electric energy consumption. Other environmental features include a Mitsubishi air-cooled VRF HVAC system in lieu of more traditional packaged roof top units, a water quality system to direct and filter 100 percent of the roof runoff, numerous overhead doors and two electric vehicle charging stations.
