Denver, COWare Malcomb recently announced Jansen Strawn Consulting Engineers, a Denver-based civil engineering firm, has joined the Ware Malcomb team. In acquiring Jansen Strawn, Ware Malcomb significantly augments the breadth and scope of its civil engineering services to complement the firm’s leading architectural design services. The terms of the transaction, which was finalized on July 31, 2016, were not disclosed.

Jansen Strawn provides professional engineering services in the commercial and residential real estate development industry, the latter of which represents a new market for Ware Malcomb. The 40-person firm will now operate as Jansen Strawn Consulting Engineers, a Ware Malcomb Company, and will maintain its current office at 45 West 2nd Avenue in Denver. Ware Malcomb will also maintain its Denver office located at 1600 Champa Street, Suite 350.

Jansen Strawn Principals Chris Strawn and Tom Jansen, who within the past decade have built one of most successful civil engineering firms in Denver, will continue to serve their existing clients while taking on the additional roles of overseeing and expanding Ware Malcomb’s civil engineering services across North America.

“Ware Malcomb is strongly committed to the expansion and true integration of civil engineering services into all of our markets,” said Ware Malcomb Chief Executive Officer Lawrence R. Armstrong. “This is an exciting opportunity to team up with two talented and proven leaders to make this vision a reality. As Principals for Ware Malcomb, Chris and Tom will oversee the civil engineering practice for not only Denver but the entire company along with leading the expansion of these services nationally. We welcome their leadership and the depth of knowledge and expertise they will contribute to Ware Malcomb.”

“We had been looking for ways to expand our platform to continue to deliver the excellent service and design that our clients have come to expect from Jansen Strawn, while increasing our market diversity and providing opportunities for our employees to grow,” said Strawn. “Ware Malcomb provides a great platform to accomplish these goals. Tom and I look forward to taking on the leadership of the civil engineering practice, and helping establish the firm as not only a leading architectural firm, but a leading engineering firm as well.”

Strawn was previously a Studio Manager at Ware Malcomb, where he helped to initially launch the firm’s civil engineering services prior to forming his own company with Tom Jansen in 2007.
