Fort Collins, CO  Fans of Northern Colorado-based Ziggi’s Coffee will soon be able to get their caffeine fix at more locations thanks to the coffee shop and drive-thru brand’s rapidly expanding franchise network. CBRE recently announced that it is exclusively representing Ziggi’s Coffee as the company works with franchisees to select locations for its new stores.

On top of its eight existing stores in Northern Colorado and the Denver metro, plans are currently underway for another seven locations across the country. The growth nearly doubles the footprint of Ziggi’s Coffee one year after founders Brandon and Camrin Knudsen first announced plans to franchise the brand. Current Ziggi’s Coffee locations include stores in Henderson, Firestone, Lakewood, Westminster and four locations in Longmont, Colorado. The first franchise location is on schedule to open in Loveland this fall. Two other franchisees have properties under contract in Fort Collins and Greeley, and a third franchisee is exploring options in Windsor. Just last month, the company awarded a new franchise agreement to open a store in Hudson, Colorado, and is also taking steps to bring Ziggi’s Coffee to other states.

“Ziggi’s is very well known and successful in Longmont. The Loveland location is a logical expansion, especially for customers who have spent time at the Longmont stores. Working together, Ziggi’s and the franchise owners have picked a spot for the Loveland store that is in a very convenient location for nearby residents and commuters. Overall, Ziggi’s stores have been successful primarily due to the great products and excellent service that keep customers coming back for more.” said Steve Stoecker, associate with CBRE in Fort Collins, who is representing Ziggi’s Coffee in their property acquisitions along with CBRE’s Annah Moore.

“We are honored to partner with top-notch entrepreneurs to expand the Ziggi’s Coffee brand to new communities both inside and outside Colorado,” said Brandon Knudsen, who founded the company with his wife Camrin. “We held off on launching our franchise program until after we had a decade of running successful coffee shop and drive-thru stores under our belt. We poured all of our learnings into a model that today offers the best of both worlds—the freedom to run your own business in hand with the structure to ensure it is a success. It is incredibly rewarding to see our new franchise owners embrace the Ziggi’s Coffee brand and introduce their communities to the perfect cup of coffee, smoothie or other handcrafted beverage alongside the best customer service in the industry.”

The Knudsens are able to relate to the excitement and challenges of opening a business as they started Ziggi’s Coffee on their own in 2004, beginning with one small store located on the corner of Main Street in downtown Longmont. Today Ziggi’s Coffee offers three franchise business models: a coffeehouse model, a coffeehouse with a drive-thru and a double-sided drive-thru. The Knudsens work closely with franchise owners to choose a business model and engage CBRE for expertise in identifying and selecting property sites that will best position the business for success.

“The ideal site for a Ziggi’s Coffee is around one-third to three-quarters of an acre located in a community-focused area. Being a strong partner with the local community is one of the brand’s key tenants, so visibility and accessibility to neighbors is key,” said Annah Moore, vice president with CBRE in Fort Collins.
