Harper Taylor Davis Joins Cushman & Wakefield

Harper Davis

Harper Davis, associate, has joined Cushman & Wakefield, partnering with Chris Ball, Esther Kettering and Joe Krahn to expand their industrial advisory practice.

“Harper brings an infusion of vibrance to the team,” said Chris Ball, managing director. “We’re excited about the dynamic she creates with both clients and colleagues.”

Previous to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Harper worked in Capital Markets at Newmark Knight Frank, and prior to that, at Cassidy Turley (later Cushman & Wakefield) for three years. She has experience in Industrial, Investment Sales/Capital Markets, Retail and Office markets. Harper graduated from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where she studied Real Estate Finance.

 

 

NexCore Group Grows Again, Adding Five Employees to its Team

Mike Zagorski

Mike Zagorski joins NexCore Group as vice president, Design and Construction. Mr. Zagorski brings 15 years of experience in architecture and construction project management. He has specialized in project management, risk management and due diligence for a variety of projects for White Construction Group and Fulcrum in Colorado, and Kiewit Building Group in Colorado and Hawaii.

Mr. Zagorski graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Science in Construction Project Management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. He is also a registered architect in Hawaii and Colorado and his certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP) and OSHA 30-hour.

Stephen Freeman joins NexCore’s Real Estate Development team as vice president. He brings a wide variety of real estate management experience, creating strategic alliances and partnerships with corporate and community leaders, developers, brokers and landowners to effectively align with key business initiatives.

He has worked on projects across the United States in a variety of industries such as seniors housing, multi-family, collegiate housing, single-family and preschools with firms  including HHHunt, NVR Inc., Place Properties, and Primrose Schools. Mr. Freeman graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA in Real Estate and Risk Management from the University of Georgia.

Hunter MacLeod

Hunter MacLeod joins NexCore’s Real Estate Development team as vice president. He brings nearly a decade of experience of initiating, managing and completing profitable transactions in a variety of property types including land, mixed-use, multifamily and senior housing, including independent living, assisted living and memory care.

Before joining NexCore, Mr. MacLeod served as vice president Development for Balfour Senior Living, as a consultant for MacLeod Realty and as director of Acquisitions for UDR Inc. Mr. MacLeod graduated from University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate and Construction Management. He also holds a Professional Energy Land Management Certificate in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Denver.

Lauren Irwin joins NexCore as its controller. Ms. Irwin has enjoyed more than a decade of experience in a wide variety of financial roles for companies such as The Howard Hughes Corporation, Bizzi & Partners Development, Cotter & Kavanaugh in New York City, Novogradac & Company and Pacific Gas and Electric Company in San Francisco.

Ms. Irwin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from San Francisco State University.

Vivian Yang

Vivian Yang joins NexCore as associate Investment Research. Ms. Yang joins NexCore after holding the position of research analyst with PlanetRetail RNG in Boston.

Prior to that, she was a Natural Resource Economics Intern with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland, Maine, and held several assistant positions at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.

Ms. Yang earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College with a major in Math and Economics and a minor in Chinese.

 

Humphries Poli Architects Expands Design Team

Humphries Poli Architects (HPA), a locally-owned architectural firm located in Denver’s uptown neighborhood, recently welcomed Sheena Rude and Jonathan Fertig, AIA to its growing team. Together, Rude and Fertig bring a wide range of design experience in complex urban environments to HPA’s design studio.

Prior to HPA, Rude worked as an architectural designer at the Sports Studio in Gensler LA, and the West Los Angeles design firm, Hodgetts + Fung. She brings experience in high-density, community-based projects, such as a LA metro transit station, a mixed-use development in West Hollywood, and the recently completed Banc of California Stadium. Through this work, she developed a passion for design that improves a community’s everyday experience and is looking forward to applying this passion to housing for the communities of Colorado and beyond with HPA. Rude received a Bachelor’s of Design in Architecture from University of Florida and a Masters of Architecture from UCLA.

Fertig joins HPA from CBT Architects, a leading Boston-based design firm, where he gained experience as a project architect for a $20 million dollar renovation and addition to the Science and Integrated Learning Center at Curry College. Through tactical urbanism interventions Fertig has become a well-known advocate for sustainable urbanism, helping spur a streets renaissance in Boston while working to make the city more livable, walkable and bikeable.

Bringing more than 10 years of experience in markets spanning from education to multi-family housing and public spaces, Fertig will significantly bolster HPA’s capabilities in designing public facilities for a community’s needs. He received a bachelor’s degree in physics from Reed College, a master’s in physics from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a master’s in architecture from Boston Architectural College.

 

JE Dunn Construction Announces Multiple Promotions in Denver

JE Dunn Construction, the 11th largest general contractor in the United States, recently announced the promotion of four prominent leaders in the Rocky Mountain Division – Jason Oltman to vice president; Matt Ogle to senior safety manager; and Justin McFadden and Zach Benbow to senior project managers. Together, these professionals bring more than 50 years of construction and safety experience to the company.

As vice president, Jason Oltman will play a key role in supporting the JE Dunn leadership and project management teams for the West region. He will manage day-to-day operations, oversee a project’s financial well-being, and overall conduct the lifetime of a project. Matt Ogle will manage safety compliance and concerns and oversee solutions for preventable actions on site. As senior project managers, Justin McFadden and Zach Benbow will be responsible for obtaining, planning, and supervising construction to ensure high-quality project outcomes. In their new roles, these leaders will work to drive JE Dunn’s mission to be an indispensable business partner for clients and other area partners.

The Beck Group Announces Gerardo “Jerry” Salgado Received ASSE Colorado Award

The Beck Group shared that Jerry Salgado has received the 2018 Safety Professional of the Year Award from the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Colorado Chapter. The award is given annually to recognize an occupational safety and health professional who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the safety field while making significant contributions to advancing the safety profession.

Jerry joined The Beck Group in January 2015 as the office’s first Safety Director. He has created formality and structure, and provided discipline in practicing safety in everything Beck does.
