Marcus & Millichap Promotes Three to First Vice President

Marcus & Millichap announced that Skyler Cooper and Brian C. Smith, CCIM, SIOR, have been promoted to first vice president investments in Marcus & Millichap’s Denver office.

Cooper was previously a vice president investment with Marcus & Millichap and focuses on advisory services for the acquisition and disposition of hospitality assets. He joined Marcus & Millichap’s Dallas office as an associate in 2012, and is a director of the National Hospitality Group. Cooper began his career with Marriott International at the West Palm Beach Marriott in West Palm Beach where he worked as a sales associate, supervising group sales and catering events. His Marriott career moved him to Bethesda as a regional sales manager for the Washington D.C. market managing sales operations for over 12 full-service hotels including the JW Marriott Washington, DC.  He has a bachelors in accounting and computer science from Virginia Tech.

Smith was previously a vice president investment with Marcus & Millichap and focuses on the acquisition and disposition of office and industrial properties with a specific focus on healthcare-related assets.

He is an accomplished veteran with more than 28 years of experience in the real estate industry. Smith is also a Certified Commercial Investment Management (CCIM) as well as a Society of Office & Industrial Realtors (SIOR) member. He is a three-time recipient of the company’s prestigious National Achievement Award in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Additionally, he has ranked in the Top 20 for the past three years as an Associate Director in the Healthcare Real Estate Group and National Office and Industrial Properties Group.  Smith is a University of Colorado graduate with a M.B.A , M.S. in Finance and M.S. Management Organization.

Separately, Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp. (MMCC) announced that Phillip Gause, also of the firm’s Denver office, has been promoted to first vice president capital markets. Previously, Gause was a vice president capital markets with MMCC.

Gause joined the firm in January 2014 with more than a decade of commercial real estate lending experience under his belt. He quickly amassed an impressive track record with over 130 transactions for $400MM in loan proceeds closed in four years. He was ranked as a Top 30 originator within the firm in 2015, 2016 & 2017 and is a two-time winner of the company’s prestigious National Achievement Award.

Gause graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in business.

 

Ware Malcomb Announced Patrick Gunn Joined Denver Civil Engineering Group

Ware Malcomb announced Patrick Gunn has joined the firm as an engineering manager in the Denver civil engineering office. In this position, Gunn will assist with the training and leadership of the firm’s civil engineering group in Denver.

Gunn brings more than 15 years of experience in the engineering field to Ware Malcomb. Most recently, he was a project manager for numerous commercial civil land development projects in Denver. He also spent 10 years working on commercial and residential civil engineering projects in Chicago, including some in collaboration with Ware Malcomb’s Chicago office.

“Patrick brings an energy for team building and a passion for client service to his new role,” said Chris Strawn, principal of Ware Malcomb’s Civil Engineering group.

“Patrick will be instrumental in helping the Denver civil engineering office maintain its leadership position in local land development, and also help enable the growth of our civil services firm-wide,” said Tom Jansen, principal of Ware Malcomb’s Civil Engineering group.

Gunn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University and maintains his Professional Engineering (PE) certification in the states of Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, Illinois and Minnesota. He is also a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).

Ware Malcomb’s Civil Engineering team specializes in land development projects, with a focus on efficient design practices to create successful projects for clients. The team has worked on commercial office, industrial, healthcare, public, education, retail/restaurant, mixed-use, and multi-family, residential and subdivision projects.

 

Mulliken Weiner Berg & Jolivet Welcomes Sara Frear

Sara M. Frear, formerly with Land Title, has joined the law firm of Mulliken Weiner Berg & Jolivet, P.C. Frear’s practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, business law, estate planning and probate.

Frear graduated from the University of Minnesota with her J.D. in 1996 and from Winona State University summa cum laude with her B.S. in 1993. After practicing in Wisconsin, Frear relocated to Colorado in 1997. Prior to joining Mulliken Weiner Berg & Jolivet, Ms. Frear worked in the title insurance industry for more than 20 years. Frear is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the El Paso County Bar Association.
