Mary Burkett joins Pacific Project Management’s Denver Office as Project Coordinator

Pacific Project Management (PPM), a Seattle-based commercial real estate project management service company, announced the addition of Mary Burkett as a project coordinator. In the position, Burkett will provide support for project delivery and overall office operations for future growth.

“Pacific Project Management’s success comes from our ability to look further down the road to identify obstacles and advise clients on the right course of action. Mary’s previous industry experience gives me confidence that she will thrive,” said Joe Zanone, senior project manager and Denver office lead. “At PPM, employees are engaged, proactive and highly collaborative. Mary is willing to dive straight into work; we expect she will be a great team player.”

Burkett previously gained industry experience with internships at Shea Properties, Fransen Pittman General Contractor, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank and Larimer Construction where she supported brokers and project managers. She has participated in pre-leasing discussions, created a marketing walking tour for investors, assisted in preparations for a public hearing presentation for re-zoning of land as well as presentations of project details to neighborhood businesses.

“Joining Pacific Project Management while they are growing the Denver office provides me with a variety of opportunities to become emerged in the Denver market. I am joining Joe at industry events, like NAIOP Colorado, and growing our network to find Denver-based clients,” said Burkett. “I look forward to participating with a collaborative team, where my input will be considered on Denver-related decisions, such as marketing deliverables.”

In addition to NAIOP Colorado, Burkett is actively involved in Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Downtown Denver Partnership. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Bucknell University.

NexCore Group adds Scott Patterson to its Design & Construction Team 

NexCore Group, a national healthcare real estate developer, recently announced that Scott Patterson has joined the firm as vice president Design & Construction. NexCore Group Managing Principal Jarrod Daddis says the appointment is part of an expansion of the firm’s Design & Construction Department.

“We are very pleased to have Scott join our Design & Construction team at this incredibly exciting time of growth in our company,” Mr. Daddis says. “He brings with him strong project management skills and we are delighted to have him join our team as we continue to develop excellent healthcare solutions for our clients nationwide.”

In his new role at NexCore, Mr. Patterson is responsible for all aspects of project management and delivery from predevelopment through construction completion.

Mr. Patterson has enjoyed an eight-year career involving design and construction, project management and operations for many healthcare real estate projects across the country. His experience has involved working with a multitude of health systems including Swedish Providence and UNMH Health Systems.

Mr. Patterson earned a Bachelor of Arts, Architecture from the University of New Mexico. He holds a LEED AP certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Black Creek Group Announces New Marketing Head

Black Creek Group, a Denver-based real estate investment management firm, today announced the appointment of Heather Grubbs as managing director – chief marketing officer. Ms. Grubbs will oversee all aspects of the firm’s marketing strategy, with an emphasis on positioning Black Creek’s investment products to investment professionals for use in their client’s portfolios.

“Heather is a strategic thinker who has a deep understanding of the retail segment and intermediary distribution channels, which will be a key growth driver for firms investing in commercial real estate over the next several years,” said Raj Dhanda, president of Black Creek Group. Mr. Dhanda explained that while institutional investors will remain a major force in the commercial real estate market and an important constituency for Black Creek, many have already allocated to the asset class, “We’re delivering institutional-quality real estate investment products that are tailored for individual investors and I’m confident Heather can help us share that message,” he said.

Ms. Grubbs most recently served as V.P. of Marketing for a division of Fidelity Investments based in Denver, where she was responsible for firm-wide marketing of its sector investment products and oversaw marketing for the launch of its ETF division and proprietary ETF products. She previously held senior positions at Janus Capital Group (now Janus Henderson), Old Mutual Investment Partners and Transamerica.
