East West Hospitality Promotes Colleen Weiss-Hanen to President & Chief Executive Officer

After more than 30 years of success in real estate and property and association management, Colorado’s East West Hospitality is undergoing a change in leadership, with Colleen Weiss-Hanen taking over as president and chief executive officer.

Current CEO and Founding Partner Ross Bowker will transition to the role of chairman.

Weiss-Hanen has worked at East West Hospitality for more than 24 years, most recently serving as the chief financial officer and asset manager overseeing a diverse portfolio of companies, which range from property, hotel and spa management to retail operations and commercial leasing.

“Colleen has worked her way from a pure accounting role to now overseeing all of the financial and strategic operations and she has distinguished herself at every point along the way,” said East West Co-Founder Harry Frampton. “Ross has laid a great foundation for East West and will continue to be closely involved on a strategic level.”

A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Weiss-Hanen serves on the boards of numerous non-profits, including the Bright Future Foundation, Homecare and Hospice of the Valley and the Avon and Confluence Metropolitan District. She is also the vice president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals.

“I am honored and thrilled to take on this new challenge,” said Weiss-Hanen. “We have an incredible team and I look forward to carrying on the mission that Harry & Ross started.”

Ken Brown Joins Cushman & Wakefield

Ken Brown, associate, has joined the Cushman & Wakefield Healthcare Practice Group working with Stuart Thomas and Bill Lucas.

“Stuart and Bill’s practice has exploded this year and Ken will be a big help in meeting our clients’ needs,” said Steve Schwab, managing principal.

Brown began his career with Newmark in Greenville, South Carolina, where he provided real estate services to his clients. In 2016, he transferred to Newmark in Denver where he specialized in office tenant representation. During his real estate tenure, Brown represented local, national and international clients in leasing, land sales and acquisition/disposition transactions. Brown earned his Masters of Leadership from Denver Seminary and his Bachelors of Science from Clemson University.

Hyder Construction Hires Two New Employees

Hyder Construction added two new employees to its team. Michael Brown joined as project manager. Michael specializes in medical ground-up and renovation
projects and was previously with Catamount Constructors. He has a Construction Science degree from
Texas A&M.

Rebecca Terrazas joined as project manager. Rebecca has been in the industry over 25 years and specializes in high tech and healthcare construction and has completed over one million square feet of healthcare renovation work. She was previously with Alvarado Construction.

NexCore Group Grows its Design & Construction, Property Management Teams

NexCore Group, a large and fast-growing national healthcare real estate developer, is further expanding its Design & Construction and Property Management teams with the hiring of three new executives.

Gina Patrick joins the firm as senior vice president, design and construction; Geoff Baldwin has been named project manager, design and construction; and Bruce Jackson has been appointed vice president, property management.

NexCore Group was ranked as the nation’s largest outpatient healthcare real estate (HRE) developer in a report issued by the HRE data firm Revista and Healthcare Real Estate Insights magazine on March 14. and it continues to experience rapid expansion. Managing Principal Jarrod Daddis says the firm is pleased that it has been able to bring in the additional talent needed to serve its growing list of clients.

“Gina, Geoff and Bruce join NexCore at an exciting time as we expand our presence in healthcare real estate development across the nation. These three individuals fit in perfectly with the culture, quality and capabilities of NexCore.”

Ms. Patrick joins NexCore Group with 20 years of experience in construction project management, real estate development, leasing and tenant construction. She has specialized in full-cycle oversight of complex governmental construction projects for a variety of federal, state and local agencies including the General Services Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Social Security Administration, U.S. military and local governments.

“I am very excited to apply my extensive experience bringing complex and highly regulated projects to life for NexCore and its clients,” Ms. Patrick says. “It is a great time to be in this space with such a leader in the industry.”

Ms. Patrick graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from San Francisco State University and holds an MBA from the College of Notre Dame, Belmont, Calif. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Geoff Baldwin also joins NexCore’s Design and Construction team as project manager. He brings a wide variety of construction management experience for a multitude of large projects across the United States, including projects for Layton Construction’s healthcare division, and internships with Mortenson, Kiewit Western Summit and FCI Constructors.

“NexCore is the perfect place for me to continue to grow my career in a market sector that I enjoy immensely,” says Mr. Baldwin. “I am thrilled to join such a great team of healthcare development leaders.”

Mr. Baldwin was drafted as a Minor League Baseball player by the Kansas City Royals in 2009 and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science degrees in Construction Management and Economics from Colorado State University.

Bruce Jackson joins NexCore as vice president, property management. Mr. Jackson brings more than 25 years of experience in negotiation, budgeting, investment property, lease administration and general management, assisting institutional clients with large commercial real estate holdings. Before joining NexCore, he served as general manager and senior real estate manager for Welltower Inc., director of Real Estate for Saint Luke’s Health System, as regional vice president for the Bedford/Kemper portfolio, and held several property management positions for commercial real estate entities including Trammell Crow Companies.

“I am looking forward to joining NexCore at this incredible time of growth,” says Mr. Jackson. “It is an honor to be part of this excellent firm and to bring my skills in property management to such a quality-focused enterprise.”

Mr. Jackson graduated from University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and a Certified Public Manager (CPM).
