DENVER – Seed Building LoDo, LLC, an affiliate of Denver-based Urban Villages, Inc., has purchased the Rocky Mountain Seed Co. Building at 1520 Market Street, the adjacent three-story addition at 1500 Market Street and the historic 1321 15th Street in LoDo, for $21 million.

Building’s 44,398-square-foot property was used as a grain and produce warehouse when LoDo was still an industrial zone. Today the corner properties at 15th & Market are home to a variety of businesses including a tech start-up, insurance company, sprinkler company and floorcovering manufacturer.

Urban Villages will take over management and operations, while honoring its historic status. No immediate changes are planned for the building.

Urban Villages, Inc., one of Denver’s most celebrated real estate development and property management firms, is best known for the 2008 refurbishment of the Sugar Block including the historic Sugar Building, SugarCube and the new Sugar Square. Because Urban Villages prioritizes stewardship of buildings and places with links to the past, the company was drawn to the Rocky Mountain Seed Co. building’s handsome architecture and storied history.

“LoDo is our home and we’re invested in honoring its history while continuing to keep the area relevant and vibrant for decades to come,” said Jon Buerge, chief development officer at Urban Villages. “We are committed to being stewards through investment, management, and sustainability so that generation after generation of Denverites will be drawn to this historic neighborhood.”
