Windsor, CO — With the passage of a bond issue for Weld County RE-4 schools, GH Phipps Construction Companies has been awarded the Windsor High School addition and renovations.

The $20 million project is part of $104 million in bonds voters approved in early November. Other projects to be funded by the bonds are a new high school in Severance, as well as improvements in the fast-growing district’s elementary schools, middle school, and support services facilities. GH Phipps worked with the district to perform preconstruction services to establish the overall project phasing, scheduling of work to be performed, and bond project valuation.

Numerous Colorado school districts put more than $4 billion bond and mill levy override proposals up for a vote. The outcome of the election is approximately $2 billion in construction value within the approved bond packages and mill levy adjustments.

Design services for Weld Re-4 are being performed by the DLR Group.  The voters will begin to see progress in June 2017. Owner’s representative on the project is RLH Engineering, Inc., in Windsor.
