Melissa Nochlin

Vice President

Broad Street Realty LLC

“It’s a lot of hard work at the outset. Don’t get discouraged – what you put in today will pay off tomorrow.”

Melissa Nochlin, vice president at Broad Street Realty LLC — a market-leading commercial real estate services firm that delivers cost-effective solutions for office, industrial and retail clients — is fortunate to be able to utilize her real estate license for the greater good. Her experience enables her to serve as both a strategic advisor and transactional expert for non-profit organizations and associations, local and national retail companies and related commercial entities.

“I work with a lot of non-profit organizations in the community and being able to find affordable space for them to do their programming has made a tremendous impact,” said Nochlin.

Some of her top clients include Planet Fitness, Dutch Bros. Coffee, Ross Dress for Less, Dollar Tree, Mile High Behavioral Healthcare, Child Advocates, Blooming Beets Kitchen, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, Crystal Media Networks, The Signature Group, Goddard Schools,  CoreSite, Qwest, Intrique Boutique, A Wider Circle, The George Washington University, Capital City Public Charter School, National Center for Weight & Wellness, Head First Camps, 38 State Brewing.

Nochlin is most proud of the deal she did with The Goddard School in North Denver, an off-market property with a lot of deferred maintenance and a very active neighborhood association. “We brought all stakeholders together to make it work – and in the end, everyone was happy.”

Starting out as a female in the CRE was anything but easy for Nochlin. In fact, she considered quitting countless times during her first year.

“Being a woman in a very male-dominated industry is at times challenging, but it gets easier with experience. I also think that getting deals done consistently garners respect in the brokerage community,” she said. “This is a hard business, but my team and CEO have always encouraged me to keep at it. Winning a major client in my second year was a big turning point and gave me the confidence to keep going.”

Prior to joining Broad Street, Nochlin worked for Share our Strength, a national anti-hunger organization where she served as director of development focused on strategic partnerships, organizational advancement, special event/project management and volunteer recruitment and retention.

Today, with extensive knowledge and experience under her belt, Nochlin believes in empowering her team to reach their own goals. “Collaboration and teamwork are also imperative to our success as well as learning from our failures and celebrating victories!”

Her advice to newbie brokers? “Return phone calls and emails! Also, it’s a lot of hard work at the outset. Don’t get discouraged – what you put in today will pay off tomorrow.”

Ms. Nochlin holds a Master of Public Administration from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ball State University. She also earned a Certificate in Strategic Marketing for Non-profit Organizations from Northwestern University.

Ms. Nochlin lives in the greater Denver area with her husband and daughter. Melissa is an avid volunteer with Share Our Strength, a national organization working to end childhood hunger. She is also a member of Mile High United Way’s Women’s Business Alliance and helps to plan the organization’s annual Women’s Luncheon. In addition, Nochlin is a board member with Building Bridges and a volunteer with Kenzie’s Causes.

In her free time, she enjoys dining out at the latest restaurant concept, snowboarding, hiking or working on her vegetable garden.
