Stantec—a global leader in design—is leading the design and construction of Delta Dental of Colorado’s new 55,000-square-foot office at the Peakview Tower in Centennial. With social distancing and other safety precautions in mind, work is nearing completion.

The new office will accommodate nearly 200 team members who work for the nonprofit organization and its philanthropic arm, Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation. The new office provides space for Delta Dental to grow its workforce, which works to support its more than 1.4 million members across the state and improve the oral health of all Coloradans.

Stantec’s Denver-based design team provided interior design, lighting design, furniture selection, and art coordination for the project, which has Delta Dental moving after 25 years in the same building.

“Sustainability, continuity, and natural light have been key from the beginning stages of the project,” said Sarah McGarry, Stantec principal and the project’s lead designer. “It will be a beautiful, modern office space that provides Delta Dental an office that can grow and attract employees well into the future.”

Delta Dental’s previous offices on South Ulster Street were spread across three floors, and one of the primary goals with the new office project was more intelligent use of space. The design is welcoming and bright, with glass-fronted offices and conference rooms, curves to soften corners, a living wall, and furniture with a nod toward hospitality.

The office was designed with employees’ health and the environment in mind. A light-harvesting system was installed to conserve energy and bring just the right amount of light to the employee work stations. The design integrated a Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization system with the existing HVAC to reduce 97% of molds, viruses, and allergens. A cascading staircase at the perimeter of the building will let light into the office areas, and there will be an inviting café intended to encourage collaboration.
