Colorado native, ARA Newmark Director Saul Levy specializes in working with private client apartment owners throughout Southern Colorado. Since joining ARA, A Newmark Company’s Colorado Springs Team in 2013, he has been involved in multifamily transactions valued at more than $1 billion and comprising more than 8,000 units.

Mr. Levy works closely with ARA Newmark Executive Managing Director Kevin McKenna; together, the team works on larger multifamily sales in southern Colorado. One of the most challenging aspects of his job as an exclusive owner’s representative, is to help owners understand the implications of each offer they receive, and where their best negotiating power resides within the transaction process. He has built a reputation on his ability to ensure optimal pricing and terms for his clients, as well as exceed his clients’ strategies and unique expectations.

“The multifamily real estate market in Colorado is and has been hot, leading to an increase in off-market transactions, in which owners try to move very quickly. At times, this urgency creates remorse for owners who have chosen to go under contract quickly and then receive a request for a price negotiation as the potential purchasers investigate the offering further. I take great satisfaction in knowing that my advice and assistance helps ensure owners achieve optimal value from their real estate assets,” said Levy.


2017 was a pivotal turning point in Levy’s career and it was also his most productive year, significantly exceeding his previous years’ overall production volume. Levy personally sourced eight listings, which represented 60 percent of his team’s overall business for the year. Many of the transactions were complex and posed unique challenges but the successes reinforced his belief to intentionally seek opportunities to improve and increase his teams effectiveness.

“The challenges of last year, coupled with my achievements throughout this year, have provided me with even more optimism and confidence that I am in the right place and will have a very long career in this industry.”

Though Levy is fortunate to have participated in many record-setting transactions as a part of the ARA Newmark Colorado Springs team, he is most proud to have listed and sold The Lookout on Cragmor in 2017 — the first student housing apartment community to ever trade in Colorado Springs.

“The asset generated incredible interest, receiving 15 offers, and ultimately achieved record pricing. This was a remarkable transaction for the Colorado Springs market and it was very rewarding and humbling to have been selected by the seller for the assignment,” he said.


According to Levy, ARA Newmark recognizes the importance of mentoring and is structured to leverage mentorship opportunities.

“I feel fortunate to work at a firm that is known for mentoring young professionals. I endeavor to remain approachable and open in the office, and to make myself available when needed.”

When working with other members of his team, Levy makes a concerted effort to intentionally assign important tasks and projects, so that others may benefit by acquiring practical experience. “By explaining what makes the assignment essential to our organization-wide goals as well as short-term, transactional goals, the more the involved team members are able to understand the “why” and strategy behind what we are doing and ultimately become more productive and valuable to our business, our team and our clients,” he says.

He advises new brokers entering the industry to value integrity above all else. “Commercial real estate is a tightknit community and your reputation will follow you. Always do right by your client first and keep their best interest at the very top of your mind. Also, I would advise young brokers not to accept listings or assignments that they do not personally have confidence in. If you do not have vision for an asset, you are not the right person to sell it.”


Mr. Levy was named a Top Five Producer at Newmark Knight Frank’s Rising Star Symposium in 2015 and selected as Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtor’s #2 Young Broker of the Year in 2016. He is also a member of the NAIOP Colorado Chapter and DMCAR.

He graduated from Colorado College in Colorado Springs with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
