Doors Open Denver 2021, the Denver Architecture Foundation’s premier event showcasing the richness and history of the Mile High City’s built environment and promoting quality design, will take place September 27 through October 17, featuring nine sites never before offered during DOD. This year, the event will include virtual tours, in-person tours and archived virtual tours.

For the 2021 event, all virtual tours are free and available on-demand, including four 2021 virtual tours (200 Block South Lincoln Street Historic District, Daniels & Fisher Tower, Loretto Heights: Pancratia Hall and NCAR Mesa Laboratory) and 12 archived virtual tours from 2020, including Freyer-Newman Center, the Boiler House and the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library, among others.

In-person tours take place Saturdays and Sundays with four tours per day. Sites include the Clyfford Still Museum, the Historic Elitch Theater, the Historic 11th Avenue Hostel and the US. Olympic and Paralympic Museum.

To prioritize public safety, capacity for in-person tours is limited and tickets are expected to sell out. Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Click here to learn about DAF’s COVID-19 precautions for in-person tours. Click here to become a DAF member.

Doors Open Denver’s annual Y/OUR Denver Photo Contest, in partnership with the Colorado Photographic Arts Center, returns for the fourth year. DAF will accept online entries between September 23 and October 28, and the corresponding exhibit of top entries will open to the public virtually in December.
