Stockdale Capital Partners, a vertically integrated real estate investment firm, has announced a redevelopment plan for The Shops at Northfield—Colorado’s No.1 most visited open-air lifestyle and retail center located in the heart of Denver’s Central Park community.
“After listening to the metro Denver community, we saw an incredible opportunity to evolve The Shops at Northfield into a destination that reflects the way people want to live, shop, and connect today,” said Bastian Peters, co-head & managing director of retail at Stockdale Capital Partners. “We are not just reinvesting in the property—we’re investing in the future of Central Park and Northeast Denver by introducing first-to-market retail, diverse amenities, and thoughtfully designed public spaces.”
The revitalization will introduce new anchor tenants, modern amenities, and dynamic public spaces aimed at creating a walkable, community-driven destination.
What’s Coming:
- Life Time: A 103,000-square-foot, full-service, luxury athletic country club for all things healthy living with resort-like amenities, multiple pickleball courts and an outdoor beach club, coming in 2027 and replacing the former JCPenney space. It will mark the 10th club in Colorado.
- Wayfair: First flagship store west of the Mississippi, opening late 2026 in the former Macy’s footprint. The 140,000-square-foot space will feature 19 home departments, design services, and immersive experiences.
- National Specialty Grocer: Further diversifying Northfield’s everyday retail offerings and filling a much-needed niche on the North side of Central Park.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these incredible brands to The Shops at Northfield as part of our larger transformation strategy,” said Jeff Bhathal, co-head & managing director of retail at Stockdale Capital Partners. “These tenants are more than just exciting new additions—they’re the foundation of the project’s next phase. Each brand brings unique energy and synergy that aligns with the surrounding community and enhances the overall experience. This is a pivotal moment in creating a truly vibrant, connected destination for the Denver Metro area.”
In addition to the dynamic new retailers, significant enhancements will be made to the existing center, including new and enhanced lighting and signage, additional landscaping features such as mature trees, fire and water features, and outdoor dining options. Family-friendly amenities will include a children’s play area with plans to offer exciting programming such as concerts, fitness classes, interactive art displays, and more.
“Life Time fits perfectly into the vision Stockdale has for The Shops at Northfield and we’re thrilled for our athletic country club experience to serve as an anchor for this revitalized shopping destination,” said Parham Javaheri, president of club operations and chief of property development at Life Time. “This new destination will complement our eight clubs across the Denver market and bring our healthy living, healthy aging and healthy entertainment offerings to a new community. We’re eager for this project to move forward.”
These first-to-market destinations are designed to meet the evolving needs of the community and will open in phases through 2027.
