On November 3, Denver voters sent a clear message of support for investing in their city by voting “yes” on measures 2A-2E. All five measures in the Vibrant Denver Bond passed decisively in early election returns this evening, unlocking $950 million to repair and improve the city’s roads, bridges, parks, libraries, recreation centers, cultural venues and shelters—all without raising taxes.

The package will create 7,000 local jobs, generate an estimated $1.8 billion in economic activity, and deliver long-lasting improvements that make Denver’s neighborhoods safer, more connected and more vibrant for everyone.

“Tonight, Denver chose to invest in our city’s future, and we are deeply grateful,” said Denver Mayor Mike Johnston on election night. “By approving all five measures of the Vibrant Denver Bond, residents said ‘yes’ to better streets, stronger neighborhoods, and more vibrant public spaces. These transformational investments will touch every part of our daily lives—from the roads we drive on and the parks we play in, to the libraries, health centers, and shelters that strengthen our communities. Thank you to the voters of Denver, and every volunteer, community partner and resident who shared their voice, their time and their belief in what’s possible for Denver. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected, and more vibrant city for generations to come.”

The 200+ repairs, improvements and upgrades within the Vibrant Denver Bond will ensure safer streets, stronger neighborhoods and more vibrant public spaces for all:

●  Ballot Issue 2A – Improving Traffic and Safety on Roads, Bridges, Underpasses and Intersections: Authorized bonds will support 100+ intersections with new safety and traffic upgrades, including dozens of pedestrian crossings, 13 major roadway safety and mobility improvements, and six critical bridge and underpass safety and mobility upgrades to reduce congestion and enhance safety on Denver roads.

●  Ballot Issue 2B – Expanding Parks, Playgrounds and Recreation Centers: Authorized bonds will invest in the places where Denverites get together and get active, including 16 new and improved parks, pools and playgrounds, and six new and improved recreation centers and outdoor spaces.

●  Ballot Issue 2C – Improving Health Care and Community Well-Being: Authorized bonds will strengthen Denver’s health infrastructure by replacing the Denver Health Sam Sandos Westside Family Health Center with a modern facility designed to expand access to care. The bond also funds the expansion of the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center, creating a safer and more supportive environment for children and families in crisis.

●  Ballot Issue 2D – Strengthening Culture, Libraries and Public Safety: Authorized bonds will support upgrades to five library branches, one new library and eight improved cultural venues. A new state-of-the-art Public Safety Training Center also will strengthen first-responder preparedness and community safety, while Denver Animal Shelter upgrades will expand capacity to care for more animals and improve rescue services. A new Arie P. Taylor Senior Center and American Indian Cultural Embassy are also included.

●  Ballot Issue 2E – Expanding Shelter, Housing, and Stability: Funding will repair and expand shelter facilities citywide to make them more accessible for people with disabilities. Bonds will also invest in land and buildings for new affordable housing and an East Denver library co-located with affordable housing.

With voter approval, the city will begin implementing the Vibrant Denver Bond program in 2026. Regular updates on project progress, community benefits and construction schedules will be available on the program’s denvergov.org/gobonds page.
