Denver Broncos Pay $45.8M for Future Stadium Site

The Denver Broncos have taken a significant step toward a potential stadium redevelopment, finalizing the purchase of the Burnham Yard site from the State of Colorado for approximately $45.8 million.

The 58-acre property, located just south of downtown Denver, has been identified as the team’s preferred location for a future stadium and mixed-use district. The acquisition follows prior state approval of a purchase agreement, with the price reflecting the state’s remaining balance on the site, which it originally acquired for $50 million in 2021.

While plans remain conceptual, the Broncos have previously outlined a vision for a privately funded, retractable-roof stadium surrounded by a large-scale mixed-use development. The transaction marks a critical milestone as the organization continues to evaluate long-term options for its home venue.

The deal also signals continued momentum around one of the largest potential redevelopment sites in central Denver, with implications for infrastructure, transit connectivity and future urban infill in the surrounding area.

The Broncos have partnered with Sasaki, a global design practice with deep experience in developing some of Denver’s largest and most prominent developments, for the site’s master plan. The team also introduced a website, newstadium.denverbroncos.com, featuring the latest stadium news along with an opportunity for fans and members of the community to sign up for updates and information.
