Fitzsimons Gateway Affordable Housing Project Tops Out

George Thorn of Mile High Development addresses over 260 team members celebrating today’s topping out milestone.

Alliance Construction Solutions recently held a topping-out ceremony to commemorate the structural completion milestone of the Fitzsimons Gateway Affordable Housing development. The team of project partners and subcontractors who helped shape this effort came together to sign a section of the roof that will soon be placed—an intentional note symbolizing the homes Fitzsimons will soon provide and the collective effort that continues to bring it to life.

Fitzsimons Gateway is being developed by BMC Investments and Mile High Development. The project is designed by ktgy with Alliance serving as the general contractor.

Located in Aurora’s Fitzsimons neighborhood, just north of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, this 239,723 square-foot community-focused development will bring 210 affordable apartment homes to the neighborhood. Every element of the design was crafted to reflect its surroundings, prioritizing housing options that meet a range of family needs in Denver today.

“Fitzsimons Gateway will offer stability, dignity, and sometimes even a fresh start,” said George Thorn of Mile High Development. The project places people and community at the heart of its design.
