Denver Union Station is welcoming the return of Pigtrain Coffee Co. and Milkbox Ice Creamery, both reopening after extensive renovations. The refreshed spaces now feature a modern redesign and updated menus, offering craft coffee drinks, sweet and savory breakfast items, and a variety of artisan ice cream flavors.
The spaces were redesigned by BOSS Architecture with Frontline Construction Group overseeing the buildout and custom plants curated by Root by Design.
Pigtrain Coffee
The bright space is more inviting than ever – with cozy indoor tables and free Wi-Fi, the perfect LoDo spot to start your day off with coffee, spend an afternoon work session or indulge in an after-dinner scoop. Outdoor seating is available overlooking the fountains on Wynkoop Plaza.
Pigtrain Coffee is now brewing high quality coffee in state-of-the-art machines from Boulder’s Conscious Coffee Roasters, known for their small-batch, sustainably sourced beans.
Named for the trains that carry truck trailers on flatbed rail cars, Pigtrain serves a wide variety of coffee classics, iced drinks and other caffeinated beverages, including matcha, chai, hot chocolate and lavender fog. The Pigtrain fall seasonal menu includes tiramisu, horchata, campfire mocha, pumpkin spice, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Overseen by Culinary Director Kevin McCormick, the Pigtrain food menu includes breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, egg bites and a wide variety of delicious house-made pastries made with premium French butter.
Pigtrain Coffee is launching a new Mug Club program featuring a branded Fellow Mug System. Members can join for $99 per year and will receive 12 free coffee or tea beverages of their choice and then 20% off all drinks after that.
Pigtrain Coffee Co. is open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily.
Milkbox Ice Creamery
Filled with sunlight and a mint green hue that reminds us of mint chocolate chip ice cream, Milkbox Ice Creamery is once again scooping delicious hand-crafted ice cream made by BRIX, including vegan options. Fall menu flavors include Peach Sweet Cream, Roasted Corn, Hazelnut Brownie, Pistachio Cherry, Roasted Strawberry, Salted Oreo and Cosmic Berry. Shakes, sundaes and boozy shakes are also available.
Milkbox Ice Creamery is open from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m daily.
Widely recognized as the heart of the Mile High City, the iconic Denver Union Station launched an extensive refresh last year that included a remodel of all 112 luxurious Crawford guest rooms and a redesign of the bustling Great Hall and The Cooper Lounge.
