Platte Valley School District Weld RE-7 was recently joined by community members, JHL Constructors, RB+B Architects, and Agora West to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the district’s new Central Office. A few weeks prior, the district also celebrated the topping out of the new Platte Valley Middle School.

The new Central Office serves as a centralized hub for district administration and support services, thoughtfully designed to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and service to students, staff, and families. The building, set at the front of the Platte Valley School District campus, will also be a place open to use for larger student presentations and available for community members to utilize. The Central Office is a key component of the district’s voter-approved bond program, which includes multiple projects aimed at supporting growth and long-term educational needs across the district. While the Central Office was part of the election, it was paid for by funds the District already had in hand.

In addition to opening the Central Office, Platte Valley staff and students celebrated the milestone that marks the completion of the building’s structural framework by signing a structural beam and watched as it was raised. The Middle School project is being delivered as part of the same bond program and represents a significant investment in modern, student-centered learning environments. Once the new facility is complete, the existing middle school will be demolished, followed by site work to support the overall campus plan.

Ryan May, project manager, noted, “Reaching the ribbon cutting of the Central Office while also topping out the new Middle School is a proud moment for the entire project team. These milestones reflect months of collaboration, planning, and hard work, and they represent JHL’s commitment to delivering high-quality facilities that support students, staff, and the Platte Valley community. We’re grateful for the strong partnership with the district and RB+B Architects as we continue moving the Middle School project toward completion.”

Construction on the Middle School is scheduled for completion in July 2026, with additional demolition and site improvements to follow. Together, the Central Office and Middle School projects demonstrate a coordinated approach to planning, construction, and community investment.

Jeremy Burmiester, PVSD superintendent of schools, shared, “The opening of our new Central Office and the progress on the new Middle School are exciting steps forward for Platte Valley School District. The Central Office provides a spacious, communal space for our students, staff and community to gather. The new Middle School, when complete, will be equipped with all of the tools and space for our students to thrive in academics, athletics and arts. These projects are the result of our community’s support and a shared vision of Pursuing Excellence for All; For Every Student, Every Day. We appreciate JHL Constructors’ dedication and collaboration in helping us create spaces that will serve our students and staff for many years to come. They have been an exemplar group to work with, helping us delivering high quality educational spaces our community will be proud of, ahead of schedule and on budget”
