Katie Vanderveen Tapped to Lead Award-Winning Multifamily Portfolio

Broe Real Estate Group (BREG), the multi-billion-dollar, Denver-based real estate developer, has named Katie Vanderveen senior vice president for Multifamily Asset Management. In her new role, Vanderveen will oversee BREG’s billion-dollar Colorado multifamily portfolio and lead acquisition strategy for Broe Residential.
BREG, developer of the award-winning $700M Country Club Towers community, manages a luxury living portfolio that exceeds 1,500 units in Denver’s most coveted locations. BREG’s multi-family development segment complements a robust national portfolio of real estate investments.
“Broe Residential represents Denver’s highest quality luxury living portfolios and we are poised to grow the portfolio both within Colorado and across the US,” said BREG CEO Douglas Wells. “Katie is a highly accomplished multifamily executive with a depth of industry experience that is the ideal fit to build on Broe Residential’s reputation for luxury living and guide our future growth.”
Vanderveen joins BREG following six years at Pensam Capital where her responsibilities included operational management, capital allocation, and long-term strategy for a national portfolio of 14,000-units. With more than 20 years of multi-family experience derived from operating thousands of multi-family units, Katie’s industry expertise and market knowledge will guide BREG’s long-term residential strategy.
“Broe Real Estate Group has a well-earned reputation for its award-winning multifamily communities,” said Vanderveen. “I look forward to showcasing BREG’s signature multifamily philosophy of high-quality, high-service developments that create resident-centered luxury communities.”
Cushing Terrell Expands Landscape Architecture Services in Denver

National architecture, engineering, and design firm Cushing Terrell has expanded its Landscape Architecture practice in Denver with the hire of Senior Landscape Architect Chris Muir, PLA, a seasoned industry professional with nearly two decades of experience in the region.
This growth reflects Cushing Terrell’s continued investment in serving the dynamic needs of Front Range communities. With landscape architecture now offered as a standalone service from the firm’s Denver office, the move signals a deeper integration of site planning, placemaking and sustainable design across the firm’s multidisciplinary practice.
“Landscape architecture has always been an integral part of how we approach projects as a connector between people, place and process,” said Laura Dougherty, Denver studio director and practice lead for Landscape Architecture and Planning at Cushing Terrell. “With Chris on board in Denver, we’re reinforcing our commitment to client-centered, collaborative design at every scale. He knows the market, understands what clients need to succeed, and shares our belief that great places come from true collaboration.”
With more than a decade of experience designing award-winning public and private environments across the Front Range, Muir joins Cushing Terrell with a strong track record in multifamily residential, mixed-use, and civic projects. Prior to joining Cushing Terrell, he spent eight years with Norris Design, most recently as a senior associate. His portfolio includes work on market-rate and affordable housing, public spaces and community-driven developments.
“Whether it’s a public plaza, an affordable housing community or large-scale master plan, my focus is always on designing places people want to be while keeping constructability and cost in view,” Muir said. “Joining Cushing Terrell allows me to deliver that kind of work backed by a team of collaborators who really understand how to bring complex projects to life.”
The addition of Muir strengthens Cushing Terrell’s landscape architecture bench, joining an established team based across Colorado, Montana, and the Pacific Northwest. With expertise in stormwater management, community engagement, and multi-functional design, the team partners with developers, municipalities, and nonprofits to create landscapes that add value across every measure.
“Every client has different goals. Some are navigating tight funding timelines, others are investing in long-term community value,” Dougherty added. “Our strength at Cushing Terrell is translating that vision into something beautiful, buildable and enduring. With dedicated landscape architecture expertise now embedded in Denver, we’re even better equipped to bring those visions to life.”

Tyler, who has over two decades of commercial real estate brokerage experience, changes firms after spending the last 18 years as a top-performing agent at Cushman & Wakefield of Denver.
“The move to Malman Real Estate was a clear next step. The firm’s sharp entrepreneurial mindset, combined with its momentum in the Denver market, offered the perfect platform to lead, build, and grow alongside Jake and Evan,” Tyler Bray commented. “Malman is cultivating a new wave of brokerage talent, and I’m excited to help shape that vision while continuing to deliver the same top-tier service my clients expect. With market dynamics creating unique opportunities, the timing couldn’t be better.”
Bray has extensive expertise in retail and land transactions, with a proven track record in both landlord and tenant representation. He is known for his commitment to building long-term client relationships and for his results-driven approach. Some of Bray’s past and present clients include Invesco, Revesco, Hines, Prime West Development, JP Morgan Chase, Herman Miller, Comcast, 7-Eleven, Eaglerider Motorcycles, Edward Jones, UMB, and Polestar among others.
“Tyler joining the firm as a partner is a very exciting and big win for Malman Real Estate,” states Jake Malman, managing partner of the firm. “Tyler’s experience, reputation and transaction volume will elevate our firm and I’m extremely grateful he came on board.”
Bray places a strong emphasis on communication, ensuring clients remain informed and confident throughout every stage of the process. His dedication and market insight make him a trusted advisor for developers, investors, landlords, and tenants alike. “Tyler and I are very like-minded and have a similar strong work ethic. We both care deeply about our clients, our reputations, and strive to be the best,” comments Malman.
“As a proud Colorado native with deep roots in this market, I’m thrilled to bring my experience, market knowledge, and long-standing relationships—local, regional, and national—to a company that’s truly building something special. Joining Malman Real Estate at this stage of its growth is energizing, and I’m excited to help drive its next chapter with a focus on delivering results and elevating the brokerage experience,” expressed Bray.
Bray’s addition comes just weeks after the company announced the hiring of one of Denver’s most experienced industry veterans, Evan Kline, as managing broker of the firm. In July, the firm also launched a Property Management division and hired Michayla Danu as its director of Property Management. In addition, the company now has a Director of Operations & Marketing in Deb Stevens, a 20+ year commercial real estate operations and marketing expert, along with brokerage and transaction specialist Alisha Stoltz as office manager. Adding Bray, along with the others, to the roster shows the company’s commitment to not just growth in numbers, but to excellence, service, and longevity.
