December is the season of giving back—and for Vertix Builders that spirit is reflected in the 4,500 mothers, children, elders, and families who received care this year at the company’s first clinic in Sierra Leone. Through Vertix Health Charities, the firm is helping bring modern medical access to communities that would otherwise travel hours for treatment.

“In just a few short months, our clinic has provided important healthcare to mothers, children, elders, and families in Sierra Leone who otherwise wouldn’t have had access to modern medical care and medicine,” said Ryan Bonner, who began the charity along with company co-founders Ted Laszlo and Tom Lough. “It’s extremely gratifying to make such an important impact on behalf of people in need.”

Part of the organization’s work includes:

  • Building new and renovating existing clinics.
  • Strengthening the infrastructure of the existing healthcare facilities.
  • Supply essential medical equipment and medicine by regularly stocking clinics with necessary medical supplies.

“There is a dire need for improved healthcare facilities and basic infrastructure in countless parts of the world, and Vertix Health Charities plays a small but important role in bringing construction and medical expertise to some of these regions,” said Ted Laszlo, who, along with Bonner and Lough, founded Vertix Builders in 2014 as a general contractor specializing in the healthcare industry. “Many medical facilities are in a state of near collapse and residents of these remote villages in Sierra Leone must make a perilous journey of up to eight hours to reach the nearest hospitals for any serious medical care.”

The Vertix team provides construction expertise and a draw upon their vast network of healthcare experts to support the cause.
