Saunders Construction has completed the renovation of the Emich Kia dealership in Denver, delivering a modernized facility designed to enhance both the customer and employee experience while allowing dealership operations to remain active throughout construction.
The project included phased renovations to the existing dealership facility, carefully coordinated to minimize disruption to daily operations, maintain customer access, and support ongoing sales and service activities. Working in close partnership with the ownership team and project stakeholders, Saunders implemented detailed logistics and scheduling strategies to safely execute construction within an occupied environment.
“The Emich Kia project was a standout from start to finish,” said Nicholas Highsmith, senior project engineer at Saunders Construction. “Keeping the dealership fully operational throughout construction while managing a complex and diverse scope was only possible because of the incredible partnership with the Emich Kia team. We are proud of what we built together and can’t wait to celebrate the grand opening.”
The renovated dealership reflects Kia’s updated branding standards and provides refreshed customer-facing spaces, upgraded interiors, enhanced service bays, and operational improvements that position the dealership for continued growth and long-term success.
The renovation was designed by Architectural Workshop, whose team partnered closely with Emich Kia to create a modernized facility that reflects Kia’s evolving brand identity while enhancing the customer experience. Concertus (formerly The Wells Partnership) served as the owner’s representative, providing project oversight and coordination throughout planning and construction to help ensure the successful execution of the complex, phased renovation while the dealership remained operational.
In September 2025, Emich Kia became the #1 EV Kia dealer in the United States, selling more than 280 electric vehicles while continuing operations out of temporary facilities during construction. The milestone reflects the dedication, resilience and customer-first mindset of the Emich Kia team, who continued delivering exceptional results despite the challenges of operating without a permanent showroom.
