ABC Rocky Mountain Launches New Website & Job Board to Build the Construction Workforce

DENVER — With more than 440,000 jobs needing to be filled in the construction industry this year (US Department of Labor, 2019), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is at the forefront of creating workforce development initiatives. They are building the workforce through the merit shop philosophy: that projects and personal advancement should be awarded based on performance, skills and achievement.

“Connecting people to amazing careers is important for our industry,” said ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter President & CEO Doug Carlson. “ABC helps our members develop people for the betterment of our communities.”

ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter (ABCRMC) is committed to developing this future workforce and has launched new tools informing job seekers about the benefits of going into careers in construction and directing them to a job board so they can directly apply for careers with ABC Members.

BuildYourFutureRockyMountain.com is a resource for high school students, transitioning military veterans and any job seekers to learn more about the benefits of pursuing a career in construction and to easily apply. The website gives an overview of the different entry-level trade opportunities for applicants, lays out how much they can make in said trades, promotes opportunities for career advancement within the industry and more! One page of the site targets high school students by outlining the benefits of going into construction careers instead of the traditional post-secondary educational route due to the mass amounts of loans students incur. Another page targets military veterans who can build on their military service by receiving credentials for their military training which makes them more marketable to employers.

The website is also linked to Rocky Mountain Construction Careers Job Board, which can be found at Careers.abcrmc.org. The site is powered by ZipRecruiter, rated #1 by employers in the U.S. Jobs posted on Rocky Mountain Construction Careers are posted to more than 100 job boards across the country to help employers hire amazing talent to build amazing companies. These resources were made possible by ABCRMC’s staff and regional workforce development committees throughout the state. To thanks members for their time and dedication to these initiatives, ABC members receive two complimentary posts. Contact the chapter for more information.
