AGC of Colorado’s four-person leadership team commemorates a milestone of a combined 105 years of experience in the construction industry going into 2020. Michael Gifford, president and CEO; Bryan Cook, chapter operations director; Andrea Berumen, director of membership and communications; and Bradley Gassman, Safety and Environmental director, make-up the leadership team that has served a combined 34 years of working at the association itself, and share the benefits of this depth of experience with its 650-member firms.

With Dodge Data & Analytics recently reporting a second consecutive month in decline of construction starts nationwide, with a 5 percent overall decrease, general contractors and specialty contractors alike are seeking stability and a trusted resource to help guide their business decisions.

“The construction industry has some major challenges to overcome – workforce needs, government regulations, risk management and production efficiency to name a few,” commented Bryan Cook, chapter operations director. “One of the best benefits members of AGC of Colorado receive is the ability to work on the issues facing the industry with some of the most collaborative contractors in the country. They always take their logo hardhats off at the door and are willing to share their best practices to make the industry a better place for everyone to work.”

Within this collaborative environment, the AGC of Colorado leadership team also allows its members to have a voice in the local government regarding policies affecting the construction industry. AGC of Colorado has dedicated lobbyists and an internal legislative committee, as well as, Michael Gifford, CEO, who actively represents construction interests at both the State Capitol and municipal city halls.

AGC of Colorado members also benefit from the various networking opportunities at the 300 events, including committee meetings, networking events and trainings, the association hosts each year. “The networking opportunities are invaluable,” said Andrea Berumen, director of Membership and Communications. “Our staff goes out of their way to create an environment where our members are able to support one another and serve as a continual source of networking and referrals.”
