DENVER – GH Phipps, 2018 ENR Top Contractor of the year, has started construction for the renovation of Anderson Park, a 28-acre community park located in the heart of Wheat Ridge.
The renovation will include the installation of new metal wall panels, a new roof, updates to the locker rooms, a new and more open circulation area around the front desk and the addition of a lifeguard building to provide larger and more dedicated space.
GH Phipps is working with design partner Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture, an award-winning Denver-based architecture firm with an office in Denver. The firm also designed The Carla Madison Recreation Center in central Denver.
Renovations to the park will include updates to existing lighting at the baseball field; creating a shared field for soccer and baseball with a removable fence; a new Pavilion for events and music, new access to Clear Creek and the addition of new plantings throughout.
“It’s very exciting to be underway with this community-focused project for the city of Wheat Ridge,” said Todd Ruff of GH Phipps. “We have a team of professionals who are looking forward to working with city leaders and Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture to deliver an outstanding new park building and park amenities to the people who live in this growing part of the metro area.”
