As Design Workshop Evolves, New Brand and Website

Design Workshop provided the landscape design for the award-winning 1144 Fifteenth office building in downtown Denver.

Design Workshop, an international landscape architecture and urban design firm, has launched a refreshed brand and website that better reflect the firm’s evolution, growth, impact, and vision for the future. Over the past five years, Design Workshop has achieved 92% revenue growth since 2020 and broadened its work across landscape architecture, urban planning and strategic services, while its commitment to clients, communities and enduring design remains unchanged.

In 2020, Design Workshop became a 100% employee-owned company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, further strengthening its collaborative culture and long-term commitment to clients and communities.

“For nearly 60 years, Design Workshop has grown through the strength of our people, the evolution of our practice and a shared commitment to creating places that make a lasting impact,” said Becky Zimmermann, CEO of Design Workshop. “This refreshed brand gives us a clearer, more unified way to express who we are today, where we are headed and the meaningful work our employee-owners deliver for clients and communities around the world.”

The refresh includes an updated visual identity, clearer messaging, and a redesigned digital experience that together amplify Design Workshop’s projects, people, process, and impacts for clients, communities, and collaborators. The redesigned website brings the brand to life through stronger visuals and more intentional storytelling around the firm’s projects and ideas.

While the firm’s brand expression has evolved, Design Workshop’s name, people, expertise, collaborative culture, core values, and commitment to creating meaningful places remain the same. DW Legacy Design® also remains the philosophy that continues to guide the firm’s work, connecting design excellence with environmental stewardship, economic viability, and community benefit.

Design Workshop’s refreshed messaging emphasizes that its work is rooted in place, informed by evidence and strengthened through collaboration. Each project is shaped by its distinct environment and community context, guided by research and measurable outcomes, and brought to life through close partnership with clients, communities and collaborators.

“Design Workshop’s new expression reinforces what has long defined our approach: work that is rooted in place, informed by research and shaped through collaboration. Each project is shaped by its unique environment and brought to life through close partnership with clients, partners, and communities,” added Robb Berg, president at Design Workshop.
