According to the Denver Business Journal, San Francisco-based background-check tech company Checkr, has signed a long-term lease for more than 92,000 square feet of space at the 18th Street Atrium, a 100-year-old building at 1621 18th St. in the Union Station neighborhood.

Founded in 2014, Checkr has been widely recognized for their innovative approach to background checks and the rapid adoption rate of its technology.  With over 10,000 customers running more than 1.5 million background checks per month, Checkr joins a vibrant tech community spanning Denver’s urban corridor that chooses to call Colorado home.

The Colorado Economic Development Commission recently approved a $27.9 million job-growth incentive, the second-largest tax credit incentive in the history of the state, to bring Checkr to Denver. Checkr’s wages stand to be more than twice the average salary for Denver workers, at $138,050 per year.

“Colorado is the perfect location for our second headquarters, and we are very excited to become a part of the vibrant Denver community,” said Checkr Co-founder & CEO Daniel Yanisse said in a press release back in July. “We look forward to partnering with Governor Polis and other leaders to increase fair chance hiring and expand economic opportunities for Coloradans now and in the coming years.”
