Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth, has signed a long-term 8,456-square-foot lease at Tamarac Plaza II, 7535 East Hampden Ave. in southeast Denver.
The decision to relocate was driven by the organization’s commitment to making in-person engagement easier and more equitable for the families they serve. With improved accessibility and proximity to I-25, the new location strengthens BBBSC’s ability to serve families across metro Denver and better connect with its Colorado Springs office. The move also helps the organization reinvest more resources directly into its core mission of mentoring young people who need it most.
Tributary Real Estate, a leading commercial real estate firm based in Colorado, worked closely with BBBSC to identify a space that aligned with its values and vision, while fostering collaboration among staff and supporting hybrid operations.
“At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, real estate decisions are about more than square footage – they’re about mission alignment,” said Elycia Cook, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. “We needed a space that brought us closer to youth, families, and volunteers, while also serving the needs of our dedicated staff. Tributary Real Estate was an invaluable partner in this journey, helping us assess both our current needs and long-term growth, managing negotiations, and even securing building signage so we can make our presence known to the community. Their strategic insight allowed us to stay focused on what we do best: mentoring youth and impacting communities.”
In response to evolving workplace needs, BBBSC prioritized flexibility in design and optimization in square footage, both in support of a hybrid work model that balances in-office days with school-based mentorship and delivering enriching site-based programs weekly. The space features a large, collaborative table setup that has become a favorite spot for connection and creativity, as well as a large, multipurpose conference room anchored by a mural of a mentee and mentor alongside the words “It Takes Little to Be Big.” Modular furniture allows the room to facilitate everything from workshops to team meetings, while a signature Donor Wall honors the community of champions who invest in a brighter future for young Coloradans.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that does so much for Colorado and Metro Denver, and we were honored to support them in identifying the right location for their employees and volunteers as well as the families they serve,” said Andy Cullen, Managing Broker and Partner at Tributary Real Estate. “This relocation is a testament to this organization’s mission-driven approach to everything they do, including their real estate strategy.”
Tributary Real Estate acted as the leasing broker on behalf of the tenant. Mitch Bradley and Sergio Castaneda from CBRE represented the landlord.
BBBSC recently hosted an open house to showcase their new space and celebrate this milestone with staff, volunteers, and supporters.
