BERTHOUD, CO — Boulder-based Z Design Group, recognized worldwide for creating extraordinary golf and resort experiences, has designed the new clubhouse at TPC Colorado championship golf course in Berthoud, Colorado. The Art Schaupeter-designed course is distinguished as the first new golf course built in Colorado since 2009 and first in the PGA TOUR’s TPC Network since 2010.

Working in partnership with the owner and developer, Heron Lakes Investments LLC, Z Design Group has crafted a quintessential Colorado clubhouse. Situated atop a natural bluff in this 800-acre residential development, members and guests will watch Great Blue Herons soar across dedicated open space, the dramatic golf course, and lakes within the development, while also taking in the commanding presence of Longs Peak and the Front Range beyond.

The breathtaking site inspired what Z Design Group refers to as a ‘panorama building’–faceted so that each interior space is wide open to truly exquisite views through vast expanses of glass. “We wanted the clubhouse to feel as though it has always been on this unique site, as though it has evolved over a long time,” noted Michael Olson, AIA, director of design and a principal of Z Design Group.

The 10,000-square-foot Phase 1 Golf Center, with state-of-the-art golf shop, cafe, and golf operational facilities, will be completed later this summer. Design of full clubhouse facilities is currently being finished for the 50,000-square-foot Phase 2, with opening planned for summer 2019.

“Combined with the golf, the views, and the level of service, this experience will be unmatched anywhere in the region,” stated Jon Turner, managing partner of Heron Lakes Investments LLC.
