Swire Coca-Cola, USA, the bottler for Coca-Cola and other beverage brands across a 13-state region of the American West, broke ground today on its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Colorado Springs. This significant milestone marks a major investment in the region, reinforcing Swire Coca-Cola’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the local community.

Andrea Kendell, president and CEO of Swire Coca-Cola, USA, was joined by Governor Jared Polis, Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade, and other dignitaries in the ceremonial groundbreaking that marks the start of construction for the $475 million, 620,000-square-foot facility that will create 170 new jobs. At the groundbreaking event, the company released a rendering of the new facility.

“We’re thrilled to break ground and begin construction on the future home of our newest, state-of-the-art Swire Coca-Cola bottling plant, right here in this vibrant, fast-growing city,” said Kendell. “We’re planning one of the most advanced bottling plants in our entire territory—built around cutting-edge manufacturing technology, smart sustainability practices, and the capability to deliver the refreshing Coca-Cola beverages people across Colorado love.”

The new facility will allow the company to provide its employees with a modern working environment, meet rising customer demand, and advance its sustainability goals. The company will pursue LEED Gold certification for the facility—including world-class energy and water efficiency performance—demonstrating its commitment to sustainability. The plant will produce more than 230 beverage options across 60+ brands, including sparkling soft drinks, waters, teas, juice drinks, and sports beverages.

“This new Swire Coca-Cola bottling facility will add 170 new good-paying jobs, building on the 1,300 jobs that are already here. I’m excited that more and more companies are choosing to grow in Colorado because of our great business environment and amazing quality of life,” said Governor Jared Polis.

The groundbreaking follows the March closing on the sale of the land for the new facility. The purchase of the land at Peak Innovation Park is the latest in a series of investments in the area, helping fuel overall growth in the district and the city of Colorado Springs.

“Today’s groundbreaking sends a strong signal of confidence in Colorado Springs and in the future we are building at Peak Innovation Park,” said Mayor Mobolade. “By moving forward with this project, Swire Coca-Cola, USA has demonstrated a clear, long-term commitment to our community. This investment will bring a state-of-the-art bottling facility, quality jobs that support families, and pathways for the next generation to live, work, and thrive, while fueling continued momentum across our city. We are proud to welcome Swire Coca-Cola, USA as a valued partner in Colorado Springs’ growth.”

Headquartered in Utah, Swire Coca-Cola, USA manufactures, distributes, and sells Coca-Cola and other beverage brands in 13 states across the American West. In Colorado, the company employs 1,300 people, including 530 people at its distribution center in Central Park, Denver.

“The real magic of Swire Coca-Cola has always been its people,” Kendell continued. “This project means new jobs, new training opportunities, and new partnerships. Whether it’s at this new facility in Colorado Springs, in our six other locations in Colorado, or across our territory, our people are proud to serve our customers with excellence and create joy for our consumers, every day.”
