DENVER— TRIO, one of the fastest-growing design and visual merchandising firms in the nation, has acquired Denver-based Design Lines, Inc., an interior design firm specializing in model homes, apartment communities, clubhouses and sales centers. The move will allow TRIO to offer more comprehensive services, resources and expertise, as well as greater national reach and deeper market insights.

“Design Lines has established an excellent reputation nationally, and the combination of their services and specialties with TRIO’s will allow us to do more for our clients across the markets in which they operate,” said Angela Harris, CEO and principal at TRIO. “Together, we’ll be able to provide a completely integrated approach to the design of master planned communities, model homes, clubhouses, sales centers, commercial and hospitality projects, multifamily apartments, as well as a comprehensive interior architecture and merchandising studio.”

Founded in 1983, Design Lines began as a small residential interior design firm. Under founder Sandy Saul’s leadership, the company quickly grew its offerings, establishing a national practice with a particular strength in model home design. The company’s clients have included Shea Homes, Mission Viejo and Meritage Homes.

TRIO is an award-winning national design and visual merchandising firm offering a market-driven design approach focused on builders, developers and REITs, and providing services for multifamily, model homes and commercial projects.  Since 1999, the company has helped sell more than 25,000 residences and generate over $7 billion in revenue for builder and developer partners such as Alliance, Lennar and Toll Brothers.

“After 35 years building the Design Lines legacy, it was important to me to find a company that shares our team’s passion for design and personalized approach to client service,” said Saul. “Not only does TRIO share our values, Angela has built a forward-thinking design firm that I know will allow our Design Lines team to grow and serve our clients in new ways.”

Under the combined structure, Harris will serve as CEO and principal, and Saul will assume the role of executive vice president. Design Lines’ 32 employees join TRIO’s team of 25.
