According to hotel research company STR’s May 2017 Pipeline Report, Denver is ahead of Las Vegas, Washington, D.C. and Chicago for new hotel construction. The Denver Business Journal article reports that 4,872 hotel rooms are currently under construction right now in Denver, which is a 64.3 percent increase in building compared with a year ago.
