DENVER — On Wednesday, Denver-based BluSky Restoration Contractors, LLC announced a merger with St. Louis, Missouri-based United Services, a full-service disaster restoration company serving commercial and residential clients since 1988.
“BluSky and United Services share similar missions and core values that are driven first and foremost by providing best-in-class customer service,” said Kent Stemper, BluSky CEO. “United Services has a passion for excellence and high ethical standards, which are also primary drivers of BluSky’s success and will be a great fit with our firm, and those were key factors that attracted BluSky to approach them about joining forces. We will be stronger together and our customers will benefit.”
According to Stemper, BluSky has grown organically as a privately-owned Colorado startup in 2004 to more than $200 million in sales and has a nationwide footprint. Today’s announcement is the second in a strategic plan of mergers and acquisitions to support further growth. The firm previously merged with North Carolina-based Disaster One in 2017. In addition to steady sales growth, BluSky has been certified as a Great Place to Work™ for the past two years.
“We hire for character first, and for fit with our culture,” Stemper continued. “We care for our employees and treat them well. As a result, our employees will take the extra step to do an exceptional job for the company and our customers. Those qualities are paramount, and United Services shares a similar approach in many ways. We look forward to merging our cultures and continuing to improve upon what’s been built.”
United Services owner, Jim Rable, will step away from day-to-day operations of the merged company and will join the BluSky corporate team to assist the firm’s merger and acquisition efforts for future growth. Stemper remains the firm’s CEO.
“United Services’ merger with BluSky is going to allow us to accomplish two major goals. First, we can now better serve our clients’ needs by providing more services such as commercial roofing, abatement, and even tenant build-outs,” said Rable, who has been in the disaster restoration industry for over 20 years. “Secondly and of equal importance, BluSky offers such a great opportunity for our team members’ personal growth. BluSky has a very similar culture to United Services, and this move will result in a great company.”
