Transwestern Real Estate Services recently represented Denver Community Church (DCC) in the purchase of 333 & 375 S. Zuni St. in Denver, from a joint venture of Oxi Fresh Franchising Company Inc. and BE Properties Corp, for $3.775 million.

Located in the Athmar Park neighborhood of Denver, the 1.1-acre property includes a 10,000-square-foot gym on 375 S. Zuni and developable land on 333 S. Zuni. The gym, which features a striking wooden barrel ceiling, will become the home of DCC’s faith community. DCC’s development plans for the empty land include new offices for the church, Sunday morning children’s ministry, and multi-purpose space.

“Our church is excited about this property,” said Jon Gettings, executive pastor of Denver Community Church. “It will function as the future home for our faith community, allowing us to find ways to be good neighbors in the Valverde and Athmar Park neighborhoods, serve our nonprofit partners around the city and world, and as a gathering place for all who call DCC home. We are very thankful to the Transwestern team for their incredible work in helping us find and close on this property!”

The gym building was formerly the practice facility for the Denver Rockets, as well as the home of a nonprofit Denver basketball academy. The building will comfortably seat approximately 500 people, and the location offers an easy Sunday morning commute for DCC’s community members from North, Central, and South Denver.

In January 2022, Transwestern represented DCC in the $3.1 million sale of 1101 S Washington St., an 18,155-square-foot church, a transaction that was part of the strategic plan to secure a new location.

“We are pleased to help Denver Community Church find its new long-term home,” said Shapiro. “With developable land and a vacant 10,000-square-foot building, competition for this property was stiff. We are excited to see the former gym transform to its new life as a beautiful and unique house of worship.”

The sellers of 333 and 375 S. Zuni St. were represented in the transaction by Jeffrey Wood, Monica Wiley, and Colton Reimer of CBRE.
