Howell Construction announces the successful completion of Denver Health’s CAM Academy renovation project. The newly opened facility will provide training and technical assistance on comprehensive, trauma-responsive substance use disorder treatment for Colorado and its surrounding regions. This initiative was made possible through congressional earmark funds from Colorado and generous philanthropic contributions from local community members.
A ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official opening of CAM Academy, where Congresswoman Diana DeGette joined CEO Donna Lynne, CAM Academy Medical Director Josh Blum, MD, and CAM Administrative Director Brooke Bender came together to celebrate this milestone event. Prior to the ribbon cutting event, the CAM Academy hosted its first training at the new facility for the media educating them on the CAM Academy’s Words Matter campaign, a data-driven initiative that provides recommended language to diminish stigma when covering stories involving individuals with substance use disorders. “I am extremely proud to have been a part of this vital project and am excited to see the Academy make a meaningful difference in how our communities address substance use disorders.” said Jeff Engemoen, Howell project manager.
