During last night’s election, residents voted for limitations to be placed on the development growth in Denver’s suburbs.

In Lakewood, the results of a key city council race appeared to hand slow-growth activists a one-vote majority on the council moving forward and in Greenwood Village, candidates who continue to rally against the idea of increasing the density of development near I25, appeared to capture a number of seats on the council.

According to the DBJ, the Lakewood and Greenwood Village elections could carry some weight in the Denver area, where residents are concerned about increased traffic and hamstrung public resources, blaming both on growth.
