The Downtown Denver Partnership is proud to bring to the community the thirteenth season of the Downtown Denver Rink presented by Southwest Airlines®, open daily for free skating beginning Nov. 20, 2023, at 5 p.m. through Feb. 11, 2024. A Winter in the City staple in downtown’s iconic Skyline Park at 16th and Arapahoe Streets, the Downtown Denver Rink showcases the Partnership’s commitment to bringing fun, free, and family-friendly activities to downtown parks and public spaces.

“Here in downtown, the opening of the Downtown Denver Rink signals the beginning of the holiday season, and we could not be more excited to welcome residents, visitors, and employees to celebrate and skate with us,” said Sharon Alton, Sr. vice president of downtown experience, Downtown Denver Partnership, “Whether you’re a novice skater or a practiced pro, the rink invites everyone to experience the magic of winter in the heart of our city.”

Throughout the season, skating is free, with skate rentals available for $7 for children 12 and under and $9 for those 13 and over. The rink is available to host private events with advanced booking and snacks and beverages (including beer, wine, and cocktails) will be available for purchase daily.

In addition to the Downtown Denver Rink, the center city will transform into a winter wonderland this season, with twinkling lights and festive events, activations and entertainment for all to enjoy taking place downtown, including the Mile High Tree and Christkindl Market, both open beginning Nov. 17 in Civic Center Park; Denver Union Station’s Grand Illumination on Nov. 24; the 9NEWS Parade of Lights on Dec. 2; downtown’s New Year’s Eve fireworks on Dec. 31; and so much more.

“At Southwest Airlines, we believe in connecting people to what is important in their lives, including places within the communities where our Customers and Employees live, work, and serve,” said Adam Westermajer, regional director of ground operations for Southwest Airlines. “We’re proud to once again sponsor the Downtown Denver Rink in the heart of downtown and deepen our partnership with the Downtown Denver Partnership in the Mile High City.”

“In the past year, we have seen an influx of visitors and locals alike returning to downtown for shopping, dining, and entertainment, and enlivening our parks and public spaces with activations like the Rink are key to continuing to build upon this momentum,” said Alton.

The Downtown Denver Rink is presented by Southwest Airlines and produced in partnership with Denver Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District.
