Elsy Studios Completes Design of Next Level Facility in Golden

Elsy Studios, a Denver‐based full-service commercial interior design firm, today announced the recent completion of new fitness space for Next Level. Located at 4670 Table Mountain Dr. in Golden, the 10,800-square-foot space is a one-of-a-kind facility for physical therapy and sports performance training.

“Our design for Next Level addresses both the practical spatial planning needs of a fitness facility such as this as well as the more intangible need for an encouraging environment that fosters collaboration,” said Carmen Schechinger, an associate at Elsy Studios. “Everything about this facility is designed to motivate people to push for their best.”

The design creates an ideal flow between the advanced rehabilitative, cardiovascular, weight training, and conditioning equipment, and a 1,500-square-foot field turf devoted to advancing sport-specific training. Motivational phrases and graphic film on the walls offer words of encouragement as athletes train. Fresh air circulates through the facility via three large operable windows.

The company’s brand personality and traditions additionally factored heavily into the design, with zigzags of orange and blue that nod to the owner’s background as an NFL athletic trainer. An overall neutral color palette provides the backdrop to a custom ceiling element featuring painted wood slats and reclaimed trailer decking that draws the eye up to flags that are raised each time an athlete completes their training. This longstanding custom began with a Navy athlete who was able to keep her scholarship through training with Next Level.

“This building solidifies our pursuit of a well-rounded product between physical therapy and sports performance,” said Jim Keller, owner of Next Level. “Elsy Studios helped us take this dated former office space and transform it into a dynamic, energy-filled space. Our personalized approach and the investment we make in the success of each of our athletes and clients is apparent in every element of the design. The Elsy team really got who we are, and it shows in the space.”

This building marks Keller and business partner Joe Bryant’s third building together over the last 17 years—14 of which they have been business partners on Next Level.

“We are always striving to lead the field of sports medicine, and this new state-of-the-art facility is an important step for us in that pursuit,” Keller added.

Additional partners on this project included Denver-based Boots Construction, JLL, and Merchants Furniture.
