Today, February 18, DEN CEO Phillip A. Washington shared the final design for Denver International Airport’s Great Hall project.

Watch this video detailing the specific plans to transform the Great Hall into a welcoming and dynamic space for passengers, employees, and visitors and offer flexibility for future growth and future needs. Click here to see new renderings and read more about the project.

The intention of the project has been to enhance safety and security, improve operational and functional efficiency, increase the capacity of the Jeppesen Terminal and create a better experience for travelers and visitors. In that time, project teams have added 31,000 square feet of space in the terminal and modernized the check-in process with 86 automated self-bag drop units. The state-of-the-art West Security Checkpoint opened in early 2024 and has already made the security process safer and more efficient. When the East Security Checkpoint opens in August, the north end of level 6 of the terminal will be nearly construction-free.

The final phase of this project will include work at the south end ticket counters and a complete transformation of level 5, where international passengers are processed through customs, and people meet their friends and loved ones upon landing in Denver. The vision for this space is inspired by the natural beauty of Colorado designed to leave a memorable first and last impression and be unique and authentic to Denver and Colorado culture while meeting the needs of millions of travelers and more than 40,000 employees.

Washington is confident that this vision for the Great Hall will ensure that Denver International Airport will be a source of pride for generations to come. Construction is nearing the end, and the project remains on time and under budget to be completed in 2027.

Hensel Phelps is the contractor for the Great Hall Project, and global design firm Stantec is serving as lead designer.
