Ulysses Development Group – a Denver-based mission-driven developer and owner of affordable and workforce housing – is excited to announce that residents are beginning to move into its first new construction community in Colorado — The Meadowmark — in The Meadows neighborhood of Castle Rock.

The Meadowmark is an affordable housing community for seniors 55+ with units set aside at 30%, 60% and 70% area medium income (AMI) — at a time when housing is at a premium in Douglas County. The property features high-quality finishes, unique community amenities, and access to local shopping and restaurants. Unlike any other affordable housing community for seniors, it will have 14 electric vehicle charging stations and plans for a shuttle transportation service for resident rides to and from common destinations.

“Meadowmark represents the third largest senior affordable community in the Denver metro area built in the last 10 years and the largest in Douglas County,” said UDG Partner Connor Larr during the groundbreaking event held in June 2023. “The impact that we’ll feel when this property opens, I think, will be huge. It will allow seniors that have built their lives, families, and careers in Castle Rock giving them a safe, quality and affordable place to live in a town that means a lot to them.”

The Douglas County community is excited to see how this development will benefit and provide value to senior residents, as seniors are a critically important part of the communities around Colorado.

“We know affordable housing issues aren’t solved with a one-size-fits-all approach. It starts at the local level with innovative companies like Ulysses Development Group who bring fresh, new ideas to the table,” said Douglas County Commissioner Lora Thomas.

Ulysses Development Group (UDG) develops, acquires, and invests in affordable housing, harnessing best-in-class practices and long-term solutions for all stakeholders and communities. UDG is guided by four principles: people first, integrity, continuous improvement, and do the right thing.
