GH Phipps Breaks Ground on Elementary School in Evergreen

GH Phipps and Marshdale Elementary School have broken ground on a new elementary school campus located in Evergreen. The groundbreaking event was led by Principal Zak Martin, along with Jefferson County Superintendent Tracy Dorland. Teachers and students were also in attendance to celebrate the start of construction.

The new 68,875-square-foot, single story elementary school will feature a more modern atmosphere in the classrooms and common areas including the gymnasium, performance art area, and cafeteria. New improvements will be made to administration spaces in order to give teachers a stronger launching pad into educating their students. Exterior developments include redesigning the playground structures, landscaping, and upgrading traffic management patterns around the school.

Construction of the new facility will take place in coordination with the demolition of an elementary school adjacent to the construction site. Planned completion of the new school is August 2022.
