GH Phipps Construction Companies continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing an exceptional building experience in the higher education sector with
the topping out of Galen College of Nursing in Aurora and the completion of Pikes Peak State College Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center in Colorado Springs.
Topping Out Ceremony Held at Galen College of Nursing
GH Phipps placed the final steel I-beam at Galen College of Nursing during a topping-out ceremony held on June 13. Developed by Healthpeak Properties, the 76,500-square-foot state-of-the-art space located at 1650 S. Potomac Street in Aurora will provide education and training to individuals wanting to earn their Bachelor of Science or associate degree in the high-demand field of nursing. The campus will also be home to the HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement. Aurora is the college’s 19th campus, joining Galen’s Main Campus in Kentucky and additional off-campus instructional sites in Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.
Mark A. Vogt, CEO of Galen College of Nursing, along with other dignitaries, addressed more than 100 attendees about the unique educational programs and training Galen has to offer, as well as access to a wide range of post-graduation employment opportunities offered to students due to its affiliation with HCA Healthcare, the largest employer of nurses in the country.
Designed by BHDP Architecture, the $42 million project is slated for completion Summer 2025.
Ribbon Cutting Marks Completion of Pikes Peak State College Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center
GH Phipps joined Pikes Peak State College and the Colorado Springs community on July 17 in celebrating the opening of Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Partially funded through a grant from the Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation, the $6.3 Million center ushers in a new era of dental education in Colorado to combat the shortage of dental assistants and dental hygienists in the area. GH Phipps renovated a 12,300 SF former childcare center into a cutting-edge educational facility featuring 20 chairs to treat patients, 13 dental simulation stations, and hands-on lab space. Designed by FBT Architects, the Oral Health Career Center will welcome patients in January 2025 to provide more accessible dental services to the community. It is located on the Pikes Peak State College Rampart Range Campus in Colorado Springs.
