Ulysses Development Group (UDG), a Denver-based, mission-driven developer and owner of affordable and workforce housing, broke ground on Harvest Hill on June 17, officially taking the first step towards bringing 152 high-quality affordable rental homes to Broomfield. Harvest Hill is situated a quarter of a mile from RTD’s Broomfield Station, making this transit-oriented development an ideal location for those seeking a public transportation option close to home.
Broomfield is home to roughly 80,000 people and is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Front Range. According to the 2025 Broomfield Housing Strategy, 62% of households in Broomfield are considered cost-burdened, with more than 30% of their income going to housing each month. Harvest Hill will help alleviate this burden for families and individuals who are earning between 30% and 70% of the area median income.
“Breaking ground on Harvest Hill represents our commitment to building smart, connected communities. As a transit-oriented development, this apartment community will not only help to alleviate the high cost of living in a rapidly growing area but also offer convenient, connected living with access to jobs, services, and the greater Broomfield area. We’re proud to invest in a future where affordability and mobility go hand in hand,” said Connor Larr, partner at Ulysses Development Group.
“Harvest Hill represents exactly the kind of smart, collaborative investment we need to make to address Colorado’s housing crisis,” said Senator Faith Winter. “By bringing together state, local, and private partners, we’re creating 152 affordable, energy-efficient homes that will give Colorado families the stability, opportunity, and dignity that everyone deserves. Projects like this don’t just build housing, they build stronger, more resilient communities for generations to come.”
“Harvest Hill is exactly the kind of innovative, community-driven development Colorado needs. By combining 100% affordable housing with direct access to transit, sustainable design features, and vital resident services, this project reflects the vision we’ve championed in the legislature to build more affordable, connected, and livable communities. I’m proud to support Harvest Hill as a model for how we can address Colorado’s housing challenges while improving quality of life and reducing transportation costs for working families,” said State Representative William Lindstedt.
“The groundbreaking of Harvest Hill marks a significant step forward in our commitment to creating a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable Broomfield. This transit-oriented development will not only provide much-needed affordable housing, but it also reflects the kind of smart growth that strengthens our community and supports residents at every stage of life,” said Mayor Guyleen Castriotta, City of Broomfield.
“Harvest Hill is exactly the kind of project we need more of in Colorado—rooted in partnership, thoughtfully designed, and focused on helping families thrive,” said Maria De Cambra, executive director of the Colorado Department of Local Affairs. “Strong public and private partnerships have made more affordable homes near public transit and desirable amenities a reality for this community, and we’re proud to work with Ulysses Development Group, the City of Broomfield, Broomfield FISH, and our other partners to support this development.”
“Colorado Housing and Finance Authority is proud to support Harvest Hill through the allocation of state and federal housing tax credits, as well as financing for the development. We know that Harvest Hill and the quality, affordable housing it will provide will serve to strengthen this community and build a stronger Colorado,” said Steve Johnson, chief operating officer at Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).
Harvest Hill will provide many amenities to create a sense of community for future residents, including a pocket park, outdoor grill areas, fitness center, event and craft rooms, as well as on-site staff offices. Additionally, the units are built with high-quality finishes such as hard-stone countertops, and will include washers and dryers and Energy-Star rated appliances.
