Haselden Construction has launched its new subsidiary, Haselden Direct Buy Solutions. The specialized entity was established to help clients navigate an increasingly complex supply chain by allowing them to cut out the middleman, save time, and efficiently procure mechanical systems and other critical equipment directly.
The official launch follows a highly successful proof-of-concept phase initiated in 2025. During this market-testing period, Haselden successfully procured over $20 million in equipment for clients on strategic jobs, proving the model’s immense value in budget control and schedule certainty.
“At Haselden, we’re always looking for new ways to deliver greater value to our clients,” said Christian Ekstrom, vice president of preconstruction at Haselden. “A dedicated procurement division was a natural next step to help our teams and clients navigate today’s volatile supply chain. Through Haselden Direct Buy Solutions, we are able to move projects forward with greater predictability, improve schedules, and provide meaningful cost savings.”
By engaging manufacturers and vendors earlier in the project lifecycle, Haselden Direct Buy Solutions enables clients to realize 5–10% cost savings compared to traditional procurement approaches. The Direct Buy team obtains multiple competitive bids, levels pricing and scope for accurate comparisons, and ensures full financial transparency.
Additionally, early procurement shields project budgets from market volatility and future price escalations by securing equipment well before traditional release milestones.
Long manufacturer lead times remain a critical threat to commercial construction schedules. Haselden Direct Buy Solutions addresses this by securing critical equipment early, netting clients 10–20 weeks of schedule savings.
By identifying manufacturing timelines at the outset, the team resolves procurement risks before construction begins. Early equipment selection also allows for advanced Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) coordination, enabling project teams to resolve potential conflicts before they impact the field.
Haselden Direct Buy Solutions operates on a foundation of collaboration, working alongside owners, designers, trade partners, and vendors from early design through final commissioning and warranty support. The subsidiary provides comprehensive, end-to-end management, including:
- Design drawing reviews and equipment option analysis
- Vendor management and bid evaluations
- Submittal reviews and performance testing
- On-site logistics (material verification, storage, and access planning)
By bringing this specialized procurement expertise to the table early, Haselden Direct Buy Solutions eliminates traditional supply chain friction to ensure smoother, more predictable project delivery.
