Centennial, CO — Last Thursday was an exciting day for the crowd gathered at Haselden Construction’s 8.9 acre project site at First Street and Denver Avenue in Loveland. The celebration and ceremony marked the official groundbreaking for the new Larimer County Building which is scheduled for completion in late summer or early fall of 2018.
“This [building] was the wish and desire of so many people in the county,” stated County Commissioner Tom Donnelly to the crowd. “I’m really excited to tell you that this building is being constructed in a way that I think is consistent with the values of our community.” Also in attendance at the event were County Commissioners Lew Gaiter III and Steve Johnson, Loveland Mayor Cecil Gutierrez, District Attorney Cliff Riedel, City Councilman Steve Olson, Mayor Pro Tem John Fogle, and Undersheriff Bill Nelson.
“It is exciting to see so much community enthusiasm for this project,” said Haselden Project Manager Kevin Hoff. “This will be a great asset to all the people of Larimer County and Haselden Construction is proud to be a part of it.”
Designed by The Architects’ Studio, the $19.5M project will make service much more convenient for the southern portion of the county. At 46,000 SF and two stories, the building will house several vital county offices such as the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Department of Motor Vehicles, County Clerk, Larimer County Workforce Center, and Larimer County Department of Health and Environment.
With 229 parking spaces and plenty of room for expansion, the new location will be convenient for visitors and staff alike.
“This really is a great day for Loveland,” said County Commissioner Steve Johnson. He went on to say, “Haselden Construction has done the preconstruction work and has helped us form a great construction team that’s so important for bringing the project to realization.”
