Howell Construction recently completed a renovation and expansion project for the Colorado National Guard – Ft. Lupton Readiness Center. The center is dedicated to training and emergency preparedness and houses the Mountain Division of the Colorado National Guard Infantry.

Scope included the ground-up construction of a vehicle maintenance building, which includes vehicle maintenance bays, lifts, oil interceptors, compressed air, and an exhaust system. In addition, Howell added space to the Readiness Center with reinforced concrete walls to provide a home for their new weapons vault. The addition also houses new locker space, a fitness room, and general storage. Finally, Howell’s scope included renovations to existing locker rooms and showers.

The Fort Lupton campus remained open and operational throughout construction. To accommodate base operations, the Howell team coordinated with the National Guard to minimize the impact of disruptive work. The project was completed within budget and schedule.

“Howell is proud to complete such a meaningful project,” said Collin Jacobsen, Howell project manager. “The personnel who complete their training at this center provide a critical service to the State. It was an honor to be selected.”
