HW Home, one of Colorado’s most influential and locally owned home furnishings brands, has announced the opening of its new 10,000-square-foot flagship showroom at 9th & Colorado (9+CO) — the 26-acre urban infill community developed by Continuum Partners with investment partners M Development and Carlton Associates.
As a new anchor tenant at 9+CO, HW Home will kick off its grand opening festivities with a variety of events and collaborative partnerships that will not only showcase the store as a new destination within the community but will also serve to highlight the network of locally owned businesses that make 9+CO unique.
Founded in 1999 by Ron Werner and Jim Hering, HW Home takes a unique approach to home décor that is decidedly eclectic, offering a wide selection of home furnishings from around the world, including one-of-a-kind pieces. HW Home opened its first location on Pearl Street in Boulder before bringing its design-forward vision to Denver in 2004 with a flagship at Clayton Lane in Cherry Creek North. The new forever home at 8th Avenue and Albion Street has 50% more showroom space than HW Home had at the Clayton Lane location and incorporates design elements that speak to the company’s history and lineage, including the reclaimed maple floor and a recreation of the onyx wall, both iconic elements from the original Clayton Lane store.
“We didn’t want this next era of design-driven living to just be a sea of furniture,” said Ron Werner, owner and co-founder of HW Home. “We designed the showroom to feel more like a movie set, with a series of flowing vignettes. With this amount of space, we’ve been able to expand our selection significantly. We have the best fabric setup we’ve ever had with more than 3,500 fabric options. And we’ve been ordering new merchandise since March so that not only are our customers in a brand-new store, but they are seeing brand new pieces.”
One of the reasons HW Home relocated to 9+CO is that the community strongly supports local and independent businesses and the company plans to become a platform for cross-collaborations, beginning with its Grand Opening Weekend, taking place September 24 – 26. The weekend will include two private events as well as a community celebration on Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which will feature local pop-ups, refreshments, live music and interactive experiences in the showroom, introducing guests not only to the new HW Home showroom but the 9+CO community as a whole.
On October 1, HW Home will host a new collaborative fashion event called The Fall Edit in partnership with 9+CO’s Bastille Denver, Therapy Boutique, as well as Fabrieks, a local company that brings together fashion, food, design, and community. This event is intended to become a recurring seasonal experience, with both fall and spring editions that continue to spotlight local businesses and foster meaningful connections within the Denver creative community.

Recently named a Mayor’s Design Awards winner in the category of Open Space, Street Activation and Placemaking, the 9+CO project comprises approximately two million square feet of mixed-use development on 26 acres. A highly walkable development, 9+CO is designed to complement and connect with the surrounding residential neighborhoods, integrating open space and pedestrian amenities with a mix of uses including residential, office, retail and entertainment — not to mention plentiful public parking.
